When it comes to celebrations that help worthy causes, longtime supporters of Grillin’ for Food Gatherers will tell you this one is near or at the top.
Ann Feeney of Chelsea described the June 13 fund-raiser as “a feel-good event,” and that she kept returning to bid on one of the many auction items, an opportunity to take a baking class at Zingerman’s Bakehouse.
“It’s just a great event,” she said, adding there must have been 200 or more volunteers.
Mark Ouimet of Scio Township called it a true community event where people come together to help their neighbors.
“It’s a wonderful time,” he said, adding that the “best part is raising money for food for people who really need it.” Read more…
