About Mark Ouimet

Commissioner Mark Ouimet is working hard for you and your community...

Preserving the Character of Our Community

While we look towards the future, it is important to recognize and preserve remnants of the past that so greatly affect our current quality of life. Mark is committed to making sure that these two historic bridges are preserved and continue to sere us years from now. When the University of Michigan decided to sell historic Gordon Hall, Mark worked together with area organizations to purchase and preserve this landmark.

Keeping Wasthenaw Safe

Throughout his term, Mark has listened to and provided for the needs of our brave first responders, making sure they get what they need and deserve to protect us. Mark has also been a leader in the effort to save thre road patrols, fully supporting law enforcement officials throughout the entire process, and distinguishing himself from his peers by casting the sole vote in support of maintaining the road patrols. In recognition of his efforts, the Police Officers Association of Michigan named him County Commissioner of the Year.

Creating and Keeping Jobs in Washtenaw County

Mark is working hard to provide everyone in our community with free or low-cost internet access, regardless of income or location. The strong leadership exhibited throughout this project has resulted in building bridges between the private and the public sector, resulting in a county-wide wireless network without ever spending taxpayer money on its construction, maintenance, or operation.
