About Mark

BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Our community is fortunate to have one of the best quality of life in the country. Mark is working hard to preserve the values and policies that make western Wasthenaw a great place to live.

RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP

Washtenaw County is faced with the challenge of doing more with less. Mark's successful career in education, banking, and finance gives him the background experience necessary to lead our county to a smart and balanced budget. As a County Commissioner, Mark has worked hard to reduce county spending, impose tough fiscal discipline, and was the sole Commissioner to vote against ending the Sheriff's road patrol.

EXPERIENCE WE CAN TRUST

Mark Ouimet is dedicated to preserving the unique character of our community that lends itself so greatly to our quality of life. From the Dexter and East Delhi bridge projects, to Gordon Hall, to working towards a Wireless Wasthenaw, Mark is fighting hard to protect so many of the things other leaders have taken for granted.

IN THE NEWS...

Police Officers Association of Michigan and The Ann Arbor News Endorse Ouimet

"Ouimet, in his first two-year term, has worked hard to build bridges and navigate the churning waters of county politics. At a time when tempers flared over handling of the sheriff's patrols, Ouimet maintained a calm that helped mitigate some of the more searing verbal volleys. Ouimet has been active in networking across party lines, within the business community and in other community groups, including work on the boards of the Wasthenaw County American Red Cross and Washtenaw United Way."
